Hard Skin or Callus

For many, hard skin or callus builds up on the feet in response to pressure and friction.  For others, this build up happens irrespective of whether these forces are at play.

Callus is often considered unsightly but more importantly it can cause significant discomfort and in some cases, particularly when there is poor sensation in the feet, can pose a risk to health (see Diabetic Foot Care)

For a Chiropodist / Podiatrist callus removal is a simple and every-day task. Removal is painless and is followed by 'sanding' to smooth the area prior to applying an intensive moisturizer to reintroduce some elasticity into the skin.

Following treatment you will be advised on the most effective means of self-management to prolong the period between chiropody appointments.
